‘Encampment’ Project
The Encampment home is nestled close to the northern New Hampshire border and Canadian wilderness. The client, a retired logger from Maine, wanted a simple, modern home that would be tucked away into the old growth forests. Following the principles of prospect and refuge, the house is situated on a bluff that overlooks the lush green landscape below while still being protected from harsh winter winds and cold northern air. The project, still in its infancy, allows the client to make changes readily; giving us time to understand the intricacies of the site and ecology as it cycles though it’s seasons.
